Or use mencoder, and reduce that to a single step.

But actually, it should be possible to modify the podcast uploading thing to accept the phone's format, and do the conversion on the server.  That's an exercise for the reader though, doing audio conversion can take time, so you'd want to do it in the background I guess.  Tricky.</description>
