As I expected, the aiport was closed yesterday so Blake could not fly home. He has been rescheduled on a flight on the weekend. In fact, I’ve received some photos of the airport under water. I will upload those when I get home tonight if I remember. They mostly evacuated the offices where I work since the river flowing along the back had broken it’s banks and water was right up to the back door. Fortunately, it stopped there. I wasn’t at work so I missed all the excitement. I have some pictures of the nearby University with cars underwater. I hope they had flood damage insurance!! I’ve had a break from Second Life the last couple of days. Since our bandwidth had been throttled back to 64kbps it was unplayable. I also didn’t want to ruin Bec’s game. I spent most of the time playing with Sienna and watching TV with her. Yesterday morning I took Bec to her interview. Our ‘3′ phone network was down most of the day, probably due to the severe weather conditions. After dropping her off, Sienna and I went to the Post Office to pick up any mail and I grabbed a coffee from a nearby shop while I was there. They give away small chocolate muffins with each coffee, free, so I got one for Bec and one for Sienna. After that, we headed back to where I had dropped Bec off and waited only a few minutes and she was ready to leave — good timing! I watched a South Park dvd we have and also Chasing Amy by Kevin Smith. I grabbed a bit of shopping yesterday afternooon and picked up some fruit, fruit salad, custard, cream and icecream. When I got home I put it all together in tall glasses and made a couple of parfaits. It was really enjoyable, but very fattening I also took a big garbage bag of washing to the Laundrette and dried it all there.
