 Clerks 2 News 8/17 Update

When it reigns, it pours. Holy crap, we’ve finally got our female lead! And she’s awesome! I’ll let you know who she is once the deal is finalized. And after running into a long delay trying to secure the location, we’re 85% locked in. If we sign the agreement by Friday, the schedule finally gets triggered: Ratface will start building, the remaining keys will be hired, and rehearsals will begin within weeks. After almost a year since the opening of this thread, "Clerks 2" is fast becoming a reality.

See if you can beat the computer and stop it guessing the evil dictator or sitcom actor.

Since there’s no IMming from work any more, I’ve installed the Miranda ICQ Client. I originally tried Trillian, but they want me to pay for Jabber support. JABBER! The most openly free protocol in the whole damn world probably and they want me to pay for that? Sheesh! Make me pay for AIM or something cos I don’t use it ;) hehe

Anyways. I installed it and a whole heap of plugins and a theme and skin and it’s looking pretty darn sexy.

Miranda

Of course I’ve blurred my contacts’ details but you get the gist.

It supports multiple protocols. I’ve got ICQ, YIM, Jabber and MSN enabled. You can even install your own icon sets. I’ve chosen some rather nice-looking ones for my Miranda.

It doesn’t support the funkier functions of MSN so no winks, no emoticons, no sounds. I hope they write a plugin for them since Trillian supports a lot of that. I guess we just need to wait. It’s gotta happen. No way am I installing MSN itself ;) heh

The rellos should be here in a couple of hours. Bec’s sister and her beau were still in bed when her mum rang earlier. The benefit of not having kids I think heh. We (and when I say ‘we’ I of course mean ‘Bec’) have been cleaning the house all morning. It looks spotless. I did do some stuff tho. Just not as much as she did hehe

Sienna and Blake are outside playing in the back yard.

I’ve been taking a bit of a break from Second Life lately. Just for something different. I don’t want to play it to death so I end up getting sick of it and I have so many other things to do besides.

I think we’ve just about gotten over the flu which is a good thing. I’m so sick of the damn thing.

Work sent me up to Brizzie last week for two days to help out since there wasn’t much work to do at the usual place. There wasn’t much work to do up there either so instead of being up there on Monday I’m back at where I normally work. Go figure!

Management at work being annoying so no web surfing at all there now, so less posts here.

Not much to talk about. We’re getting over the flu. Blake was his worst for ages yesterday. Tonight Sienna tipped a whole jar of coffee on the kitchen floor and knocked over the kettle (not hot water) and it all mixed on top of a newly washed basket of clothes.

Tomorrow is a public holiday so I’ve got no work and Blake has no school. Might get some stuff done around the house.

I’ve been working up north a couple days a week. Not much to do tho so pretty bored.

Bec’s sister is in town with her guy so they are coming down with her parents on Sunday to see our home and catch up.

Blake will be flying out in a couple of weeks back down to Sydney. I hope he has a great time. He usually does and all we hear about is Sydney and what he did there.

Petrol is at 1.20 per litre. Not as bad as Sydney but enough to hurt the mortgage.
