I went for an interview today for a new IT job. Unfortunately, they said I’ve been out of server work for too long and probably can’t do anything for me without more recent experience. They wanted me to have had lots of experience in building Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 servers. Without recent experience in that, they said there’s nothing they can do.
I came back home and bought some bread and stuff from the shop.
I took the training wheels off Blake’s bike to see if I could teach him to ride without them. He wasn’t keen on it at first. He got on the bike and I saw his tyre was flatter than a pancake. I pumped it up and he got on again and after a short time it was flat again, so I pulled the back wheel off and took the tube out. I found two tiny pin-sized holes in his tube. Luckily a new hand-pump I bought recently came with a free bike repair kit. I patched up his tube and put it back in the tyre then pumped it up again. I then gave him a bunch of lessons without his training wheels and after a bunch of goes he went several feet by himself. After a while I convinced him to keep trying and he rode a few feet by himself several times. He was very happy with himself. I was very impressed as well.
Since Blake had been behaving himself today I bought him and Sienna a chocolate Freddo frog each and a ‘Guide Dog’ little puppy in a box each. They were both thrilled with their surprises.
