This morning the linux server I use at home keeps coming yup with the above error and the kernel panics. It happens as soon as I choose the kernel to boot from. Normal booting shows no error but the failsafe option shows this problem.
I disabled the printer port as some sites I found discussing this issue suggested it but that made no difference.
Anyone have a clue?
Problems come in threes right? My adsl modem, mouse and now this. Let’s hope it’s the last!!!

Fixed it!
I tested removing cards and taking out the Miro PCTV card did the trick.
I then put it back into the PC in a different PCI slot and it also booted up, so for some reason it no longer likes the old PCI slot I had it in.
I have only one theory:
Last night, I woke at about 11:30pm and there was a huge electrical storm doing it’s thing. I didn’t want any more devices dying as happened the other day so I pulled all power cords out of the walls and unplugged the adsl modem from the phone cable.
The only thing I *didn’t* do is unplug the TV aerial cable from the server. Perhaps some electricity made it’s way down the cable and affected the PCI slot the card was in. *shrug*
The card seems to be detected all right in Mandrivalinux, but isn’t picking up any stations at the moment. But then, I do have a very dodgy connection on it. The socket on the card is way too small for ANY aerial cable to plug into it so I had to squash the ends of the aerial cable for it to hold onto the card socket. It’s possible the connection isn’t that great, particularly since the card is now in the bottom slot on the PCTV PCI card and I had to wiggle it a lot. Until such time as I can try it in another slot or get a new card, I won’t worry too much. At least we can watch movies on the server and DVDs too. That’s the main thing. Only Sienna watches TV and that’s just some crappy morning kids shows, so we can just put on my ripped kids DVD shows or actual DVDs.
