WauloK : The life and interests of an Aussie

I use multi-million dollar satellites to find tupperware in the bush!

Shopping day

This morning we went to do some shopping. Since Rebecca will be taking the washing machine and I will be keeping the fridge, we will need one more of each.  I had to get my webcam too to talk to Sienna when she has moved out.

I went to Harvey Norman, Domayne and The Good Guys. In the end, Harvey Norman had the cheapest prices (would you believe?).

I got the Logitech Quickcam 5000:

It has a built-in mic, face tracking software and special technology to give a great picture and fantastic sound. It can even cancel out sound reverbs created from microphones picking up speakers and re-transmitting the sound back and forth. Quite nice for $149.95

I got a Samsung 6kg washing machine. $488 plus $50 6yrs extended warranty plus $35 delivery Monday.

Here’s a demo pic taken with the webcam. Note that we have no lights turned on in the house and the blinds are closed so very little light is in the room, yet it can produce a fairly decent photo. Click the thumbnail below to check out the image. It can do up to 640×480, altho it can interpolate up to 1.3MP:

It’d be tons better if I actually had light in here. Rebecca’s huge entertainment unit is blocking all the light through one glass doorway, ready to move out on Tuesday. The other side of the room has wooden venetian blinds which are closed, there’s no light above the desk and the only light nearby is very low powered and way behind me. I thought it did rather well under the circumstances. I will move my stuff all around for better lighting once the girls are gone. The low powered light is actually one of those Citronella light globes.. very nice.. not too bright near the TV but keeps away the mozzies too :)
Yeh got the Astraware Tshirt from being a beta tester. A couple of Xmases ago they gave them away. This year we got nothing tho. Doh.
Did you look under the table? I think I installed a cam there once ;)
