What the hell?!?!

It looks like one of my friend from work was right. My ear is sore again.

I was complaining that the rubber covers on my iPod earphones keep falling off. In fact, it’s embarassing because they often fall off and stay in my ear when I take the earplugs out, leaving a black rubber foam cover inside my ear. When I don’t notice this, my friends get a good laugh or just get perplexed… "What’s that black thing in your ear?".

He said "Why don’t you just take the rubber covers off?". I told him since my ear had been sore I didn’t want to let the gunkiness get on the plastic earphone plugs. He told me he found that leaving the covers on kept the ear getting infected. So he was right. My ear had become good, but after wearing the earphones only two days this week my ear is sore again. Either of two things happened.

1. The foam rubber covers had gunk still in them and reinfected my ear.

2. Having earphone plugs in my ear makes the ear canal sweat and bacteria grows in there, infecting it again.

Either way, I’m not using my ipod for a while.. at least until I can find earphones that just sit over the ear.. like headphones.. rather than in-ear earplug ones.

Finally we have confirmation that the house is definitely being bought. We =
got the price we wanted.
Now it’s up to me to quickly find somewhere else to live. I am not 100% =
sure where to move to as I don’t know if Rebecca and Sienna will be moving =
nor where to but at least I can pick a general area to focus on. I have put =
in a request for next week off work as I found out I will only have about =
two weeks from Monday to vacate the house. I had thought I was allowed four =
weeks at least.
Wish me luck!

I heard at one of our clients’ offices today that a someone had a daughter =
this morning and named her Sienna. They were saying it’s a beautiful name. =
I said ‘Hey! That’s MY daughter’s name!’ :)

Achoo! Damn flu :(

Okay. I haven’t posted much about Oblivion in a while which prompted people to think I don’t want to play it any more and I’m bored. This is not the case. In fact, I have a few interests and do whichever depending on my current mood.

1. Oblivion. I play this when I want to do adventuring.

2. Second Life. I play this when I want to be a bit creative and also to socialise, talk to friends and play other games.

3. Game-Editor. I use this when I want to be more creative. To program games for PocketPC, Windows & Linux.

Since I will be moving home soon and that means time without internet, I will be doing #1 & #3 more, so at the moment I’m doing a fair bit of #2. Plus I don’t know many people around here so socialising in Second Life gives me some company.

Yes, it’s the first of May! A pinch and a punch and all that.

What a busy weekend. Friday evening I picked up Sienna and brought her back home. She fell asleep in the car, but woke when I put her on the bed and stayed up with me until about 10pm. At least she slept in until after 7am each night.

On Saturday I had a guy from James’ home services come over and pick up all the rubbish in the carport and some plastic roofing pieces which have been sitting up the back yard near the shed for years. I asked him to pop back when I’m not here during the week if he has time and leave a quote for mowing and gardening. If the house isn’t finished selling in the next month I will have to get it all done again and they’d do a better job than my half-arsed attempts.  Then we went to the local Kennards Hire shop and picked up a high pressure water gun. I spent about 2.5hrs cleaning the car port and some of the driveway. Sienna enjoyed playing in the water and I’d spray her with the gun from time to time. We both ended up disgustingly dirty and wet, but had a rip roaring time. The minimum amount of time for a hire is four hours ($79 iirc) so I ended up cleaning more than originally planned. I even used it to clean off the BBQ and it’s hotplates. Nice and clean now :) When I finished that we went inside for a bath. Sienna always tells me I have to ask her "Bath or shower?" so I do and she always says "Bath!" and off we go. We got cleaned up and I took the water gun back to Kennards and came back home again. We also popped into the shops and I was going to buy some stuff from Woollies but the cashiers were packed out, so we went to the BP petrol station and I bought some fuel and ice cream.

On Sunday we headed to the shopping centre and went for a ride on the train that goes around the shops. Sienna loves that. As soon as we pulled into the shopping centre she started saying "Daddy! We go on a train???".. very excited. Of course the whole point of going there was for her to have fun, so we went on the train. Coincidentally, the train starts and stops right next to a merry-go-round. They had changed it from the horses one to a new one with cars and a bike. Another guy had just put his kids on so I put Sienna on the remaining car and put in a $2 coin. Around they went and had great fun. The guy was trying to apologise for not having any money ready but his wife had the money and she was going to be back soon (a wife with money? What’s the world coming to?). I didn’t care as Sienna was going to be on it anyway so either way it’d cost me $2. They tried to get the kids to thank me but I think they were too shy.

After that we headed to the kids indoor play centre and Sienna ran around with the kids having fun. We only stayed an hour this time as there were only about 10 kids there and they all knew each other. Usually there’s 50 or more and they all play with each other. Sienna was getting bored playing by herself. I went over with her at one stage to play just to keep her company. So after an hour was up we headed back home again. She has been playing games from Astraware on my PocketPC. She loves Bzzz! and Chuzzle.

I took Sienna back home today after lunch. Queensland has a public holiday today so I’m taking it easy(ish). When I came back I started cleaning up the house. I packed away all Sienna’s toys and stuff and got vacuuming. It’s a big house to vacuum, I can tell you. Then I grabbed some boxes and packed away all the books from the bookshelf. Some more stuff ready to go once the house is sold.
