I've got an idea why my PC is rebooting. It seems the Windows antispyware application Windows Defender doesn't like my Netgear WiFi connection application. Every time I start the computer Defender detects a change in the startup and asks me if I should allow or disallow the application to run.
Most of the time now I just hit CANCEL cos I don't want to have to allow it each day.
After a random time, Defender has another look at the app, records an error message in the Events log of Windows XP and just after that the PC reboots.
I've started disabling the Netgear WiFi application (Windows can connect to the WiFi network without it) and I can surf the interwebbeh without any reboots.
I might end up uninstalling it and see if Windows can still connect to the WiFi network without it (which is only my server in the lounge room now) and if so, it could fix my issues.

Would love to when I get a decent break with Cass..:-D. How'd you get on with SpeedFan? I can't figure out anything more than reading the speed, temps & the SMART stuff. Anything over about 60 degrees and it's almost certainly heat related. Having said that my CPU gets to around 55 or so without any probs (with BOINC taking it up to 100% usage constantly..:-). What's the power point supply like? Get any lights flickering?

Beno: Supadupa IIRC. (That's "If I Remember Correctly").
It just reboots spontaneously. No errors onscreen. Nothing useful in the error logs.

PS: Leesidge.. hurry up and come visit :P

Are you getting "hardware" resets or "Stop Error" restarts? You got auto restart on system failure turned on? Just wondering coz Cassie's dad's XP PC is doing the BSOD restart at random thingy at the moment (with automatic restart turned on).
