A new song I just downloaded from iTunes .. by Nickelback. It’s only been released in Australia so far (according to Wikipedia) and should be out for everyone else by the end of the year. Did they get religion? If so, good on them!! :)

NICKELBACK LYRICS

“If Everyone Cared”

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you’d be mine
But here we are, we’re here tonight

Singing Amen, I, I’m alive
Singing Amen, I, I’m alive

[Chorus:]
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we’d see the day when nobody died

And I’m singing

Amen I, Amen I, I’m alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I’m alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We’ll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen, I, I’m alive
Singing Amen, I, I’m alive
(I’m alive)

[Chorus x2]

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we’d see the day when nobody died
When nobody died…

[Chorus]

We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day, we’d see the day
When nobody died
We’d see the day when nobody died

So here I am in Bundaberg waiting for lunch to be delivered. I went to the rsl club but it was full of customers and looked like cheap quality food. This hotel does not seem to be much faster but then I do order my steak Well Done. Ah here it is! Turns out they lost the order. . But what me worry?
I finished all work by 10.30am and my plane isn’t until 5pm

I will re-edit this tonight when I get home. In the meantime, try to read it. I will have to patch my mail script to delete the weird characters from this mobile.

Friday night I picked up Sienna from her mum’s in a hire car I had been driving down the Gold Coast for work. She wanted to know if I had crashed my car and needed to get a new one lol! Too clever that girl is. I sound like Yoda.

Saturday morning we took the car back to Hertz rentals and took the train back home. When we passed the station before mine we saw a carnival. Sienna wanted to go to the ‘birthday party’ so we drove there and went in. She went on many rides including a kids bumper boat, kid sized ferris wheel, jumbo slide, car ride etc. We grabbed an ice cream and watched the Islander dances them got a bag with giant bubble wand and solution which we spent the evening playing with.

It was a hot hot hot day! I need air conditioning in my car or a new one.
Sunday we took a bit easier and rested and cleaned up the house. I took Sienna back home and headed off to poker.

Poker went quite well and I beat my personal best by coming 4th .. Only just, too! Another guy went out at the same time but since I was first to bet it meant I came 4th instead of 3rd. Maybe I should not have let the host talk me into betting heh. Ah well it was still great fun. Back again thursday.

Today I am flying to Bundaberg. I am currently at the airport waiting for my flight. I checked in on the computer myself to save standing in line. See you this afternoon when I get back!

Vista Starter — Streamlined version meant for low-powered PCs in developing nations.

Vista Home Basic — For those content to browse the web, use email, and create and edit basic documents from their PC. Includes destop search and security tools.

Vista Home Premium — Includes everything in Basic but also includes the Aero graphical interface, Media Center functionality, and ability to connect to Xbox 360. The version most of us will own at home.

Vista Business — The basic version for companies of all sizes with tools to help organizations manage their PCs.

Vista Enterprise — Includes everything in the basic business version with improved encryption and BitLocker system to keep data from being read on a stolen computer.

Vista Ultimate — All the features of Home and Business in one.

The full Vista price range for Australia as released by Microsoft is thus:

- Windows Vista Home Basic AUD ……….. $385

- Windows Vista Home Premium ……….. AUD$455

- Windows Vista Business AUD ……….. $565

- Windows Vista Ultimate ……….. AUD $751

$455 for a friggen  OS.. effectively DOUBLES the price of a new PC. I’m tempted to get a Mac Mini for $949 but that’s still a bit much.. if ONLY they’d release the damn OS without hardware.  Looks like I’m-a gonna hafta buy Home Premium for $455. Wonder if I can get the Upgrade version and upgrade from XP Pro? Would that be cheaper?

My quick calculations put Vista Home Premium Upgrade at ~ $300. So, at the current price of XP Pro at the local computer markets of $150 plus $300 is $450 anyway. Hardly worth the trouble. Although online prices still show XP Pro (with Sp2) at up to $430!!

I only just got there on time and sat down at the last available seat. The first hand of the night and I got a Full House on the ‘turn’ card. I had a Queen and a Nine and the community cards contained Q Q A A so others stayed in the game hoping to win with a high card. My Q matched up to make it a Full House and I got a nice starting pot for the night.

I made the final table and sat down with the other nine players left. At one point I had gone All-In and lost so I stood up and started to walk away when everyone yells out “Hey! You won the side pot of $6,000! You are still in!”. I’m like “Oh .. yeah.. right.. cool” lol :) So I sat back down again and kept playing. Another one got out (the guy to my right) so we had a wild card draw and he sat next to me.

Later on, I went All-In again and thought I had won. In fact, others thought I had too, but the guy to my left (the last one left to play his cards) had JUST beaten me. Damn! So I was out. One of the guys said it was almost a ‘bad beat‘. A similar thing had happened earlier on my first table where a guy played all the way to the river card on cards that were crap.. only to win on the river and beat a guy who had gone All-In. The guy who lost was very cranky to say the least.

At one stage I had almost a straight with the flop, but needed a King. Thinking the chances of a King on the Turn or River cards were too remote, I folded (for only $100 more!) and, of course, a King comes on the River.
