Tonight I came 16th in Texas Hold’em Poker at the local club. I went out on JJ and the person to my left had QQ and the one to the left of him had KK. ARRRGHHH! Oh well. It was still a fun night
To make it that far was worth it.
Then, I came 10th. You see, once they only have 9 people left at the table, they pick a WILD CARD. That is, they have a machine which picks a random number. If it’s your number, you go back in with another $2,000 to try and win again. Well, I sat down again at the big final table and got AJ both of clubs, so I went all-in (bet all my chips). Since $2,000 was really nothing compared to the other giant piles of chips on the table, people called my bet. I didn’t get any other cards to go with it, so basically had Ace high. Not enough other clubs to make a flush either. D’oh! Ah well. It was nice to be back in the game again
There was one guy driving everyone at our table crazy. He’d get dealt his two cards and bet on them a few times before looking at them. He’d even call people when they went all-in and still beat them! The strategy didn’t work for long even though he was chip leader for a while. He went all-in a few too many times and walked off not too long after the half-time break.
Had a great weekend with Sienna again. We went shopping yesterday. I got a few things here and there. In particular, some photo paper for my printer so I can print out some nice photos to put in an album. I also picked up a clock radio for the kitchen since I only had a pissy little portable radio which was static-y (ask Chris
). Anyhoo, I got it home and it didn’t work properly. The volume switch was really dodgy. You could set a volume then sit down for 20 minutes and it’d go off. Just touching the volume switch would put it back on again. I took it back and got there about 4:53pm and Coles was closing at 5pm, so I just made it. I got a refund and came home. Today I checked a couple of places but they didn’t have anything nice and I’d already looked in KMart and Target and Crazy Clarks but didn’t find what I wanted for the right price. In the end, I decided to move my bedroom clock radio into the kitchen since I don’t listen to it much in the bedroom anyway and put the kitchen clock in the bedroom so I can see the time. Saved $14.50+ ($14.50 was the broken radio’s price). Sweet.
Today we went to find a colour ink cartridge for my printer. I had purchased a new Photo quality cartridge and my low quality colour cartridge had run out. But even if you have a full Photo one, it doesn’t have any yellow in it, so all my photos came out blue/red. It turns out you still need a full colour cartridge to print the full colour range!! All the manual and the Canon website says “Make sure if your cartridge runs out you leave it in or the printer won’t print anything if one slot is empty”. Nothing about needing both for photos. The only clue is you can select “Colour only” or “Colour and Photo” inks when printing. I drove out west along the motorway and found the local computer markets were on today. I had thought they’d been on last weekend. So, we went in and I got a colour cartridge for $35. Bargain! Sienna wanted a BBQ’d sausage on a slice of bread when we came out so I got her that. Then we went to The Warehouse and she found a little watering can she liked (a kids one) and it was only $1.50 so I thought I may as well get it for her. She loves to help me water the flowers in the front garden anyway. I did already have a watering can but it’s a tad large for her.

Copying and pasting text from elsewhere also brings along the font changes and css attributes.
If I weren’t so lazy, I’d first paste them into Notepad.exe to remove all formatting, but sometimes I CBF.
Plus, it seems to be one of the only ways to get anyone who reads this blog to write a comment.. besides the odd comment.
