It used to take me 6 months to earn my cheque from Google Adsense. Now it’s taken over a year and I still haven’t earned enough.
The pages get updated enough and I’m sure the stats will show the website gets as many hits as ever, but there aren’t many clicks on the Adsense banners.
I’m guessing the reason is browsers with built-in ad blockers actually block non-annoying ads such as the Google ones. You would think they’d be left out of filters since they aren’t in flash and don’t chew all your bandwidth, but I guess there are people around whom still would not like to see them. Unfortunately I was using the money for web hosting and domain registration etc.

Well I just clicked on 4 ads displayed and actually downloaded a program. I guess that’s my 2 cents worth (if you’re really lucky…:-).

Thanks Beno. Yer a true sport! I think if you click it is ok but you don’t have to download software.

I downloaded another registry cleaner. The free version promised heaps of fixes but you had to pay for it to fix anything, so I deleted it. Think I’ll stick with TuneUp Utilities.

Be careful with Registry Cleaners. Rarely do they do good and often will do bad.
That said, the best one I’ve found so far is Crap Cleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/
Even better yet is Ashampoo’s Uninstaller Platinum Suite, but it’s a pay-for one. They had a free copy on the front of a magazine last year. (Ashampoo has been giving away all their products via magazines). Whenever you install an application, it takes a snapshot of your hard drive directories & files. It also snapshots your registry. When you uninstall using the program’s uninstaller, you next run the Uninstaller part of this application and it shows all the extra files and registry entries (numbering in the 100s!) the application’s uninstaller left behind and asks if you wish to clear them out.
