*Sigh* This has not been my week.
Boss has been cranky about stuff. Today I had to work on some laptops and forgot to back up something on one of them, so dunno how that will affect things. I forgot to take the backup tape so had to drive back into the city and get it. I started rebuilding a laptop and the battery went flat cos they don’t leave their power supply when they leave the laptop for rebuilds so I had to start again once I found one. The instructions don’t say it’s mandatory to put the driver cd in so I didn’t and once it had built the second time I find nothing is working cos it has no drivers. So I build it a third time. It takes about 1.5 hrs each time. It’s not a client I normally support. I was filling in for one of the other guys who had the day off, so I’m not used to the way they build them.
By 5pm the rebuilds were still going and I had to stop because I had to get the hire car back to Hertz rental before 6pm.
This meant I was too late to get the ferry across the river and had to go the long way around. Neither Sienna nor I had eaten so I stopped at Red Rooster, but even though they have the most healthy takeaway (compared to maccas or kfc) they are always slow and stuffed up some orders while I was waiting to be served.
I picked up Sienna and got breathalysed on the way home. When I pulled into my driveway I saw that all my solar garden lights have been stolen. They were there for about 6 months. About 5 months ago someone stole one of them. Now they are all gone.
I found a letter in the mailbox telling me the house is going to be valued tomorrow at 10am. I thought they are supposed to give you more notice than that? I already had to get Wednesday off because they are coming for an inspection. I don’t know why they don’t do both together?!? At least they gave me a time they will arrive for tomorrow. Wednesday is ‘between 8:30am and 5pm and we’d like you to be there’.
I really hope next week is better cos this one sucked bigtime.
End rant.
I might go to bed early. The sooner this day is over, the better IMO.
