Got up early this morning and took Sienna to swimming. She had a fun time and they ended the lesson riding on a pool noodle.
We grabbed the obligatory $1.50 sausage sandwich on the way out and headed home for a shower.
Just before lunch time, the photographer from the Ipswich News arrived and took our photo out the front by the mailbox. We both thought a photo outside would look better but he was concerned at the brightness of the sun, being a very sunny day. However, just before we went outside some clouds went over the sun and it darkened the scene enough to get some photos. I picked up Sienna and we stood by the mailbox while he took several photos. It should be in this week’s newspaper.
I joined up to WhereILive some time ago and the website is owned by the newspaper. They saw my posts about moving to the area some time recently and wanted an interview since they were doing a story on people new to the area. I talked to a reporter on the phone for about 20 minutes the other day and they told me about sending out a photographer to get my photo for the story. Sweet!
We went shopping after that. I had to get a present for dad and also for two kids whom are having a party next Saturday which I’m taking Sienna to. Her mum already bought her some fairy wings and dress to go to the party in since it’s a dress-up one. Should be fun for her.
I also got some groceries. I bought the presents from the local Crazy Clarks discount store. I noticed while I was there they had very cheap groceries, so bought most of my bathroom stuff and laundry stuff while there. Probably saved $20-$30, which is great!
We also went into Coles to get some normal foodstuffs. I picked up a chicken and some ham and pineapple and cheese to make a pizza on lebanese bread. It was yum but got all over Sienna’s dress, of course.
I got all my washing done as well this morning and I think it must have dried in about 5 minutes, but I’m waiting for sunset before going out and risking sunburn while removing my clothes from the line. And to think a week ago I was in Sydney where it’s 20 degrees Celcius and raining!!!
We watched some episodes of Futurama. I put on the audio commentary so get to hear behind the scenes stuff and Sienna watches the show, so it’s win-win.
I started feeling a bit weary and noticed it was already 4pm! Way past Sienna’s usual nap time. I got her to lay down on the bed and also fell asleep for about half an hour. She’s still in there, sleeping.
If it’s not too hot later we might go to the park for a bit, but if we miss out today there’s always tomorrow.
