This morning we got up and did the usual swimming lesson.  Then we rushed home, had a quick quick shower and drove out to Kelvin Grove.  There’s a Kindermusik place there. They had an Open Day as they’ve just moved into a new place.  We got there at 10:15 and waited a short while for anyone else to turn up.  Sienna had a go on the piano.  The teacher said most kids can’t do the fingering correctly.. that is, put two or three fingers on different, adjacent keys and move each finger independently. Sienna did and they were impressed.

Once it hit 10:35am they decided to start the class.  We all sat in a circle and the teacher (and her late-teens daughter)  sang a welcome song.  Next we got up and had some games and dances.  Shortly after that we all sat down and played on drums.  Another girl, Holly (about 4yo) arrived with her mum and dad and baby sister.  They joined in the games, but Holly was very shy .. especially compared to Miss Extrovert, Sienna.

They had a couple of stories as well and we had to beat our drums to the music.  The teacher said she was very impressed with Sienna’s drum beats as well since they were mostly in time with the music — as was her dancing. So, it may be a good idea to enrol Sienna in a Music School at some stage.  There’s one much closer to where we live as this took us about 40 minutes to drive to.

Once again we had a dance session (with scarves.. the girls loved it) and Holly really started joining in with Sienna and copying her and playing games with her and the scarves.  Soon, they were chasing each other around and we had to slow them down or risk a collision or something.

When we finished, Sienna wanted to look at the other instruments so she tried out a violin and a guitar.  Perhaps Sienna will be a musician and grow up to teach? That’d be pretty cool.

We left there and they gave Sienna two balloons.. one pink and one purple. She was so excited.  We dropped into the nearby KFC for lunch then headed home.

This afternoon I head to the doctor to have them tell me what they found in my CT scan a couple of weeks ago.

Tomorrow we are going to make our way up to Noosa Heads.  I’ve booked a room up there for a couple of nights and we will check out the Big Pineapple and the Macadamia Nut Factory and many other things. Dad took us up there when I was about 8yo or so and it’d be great to take Sienna for a trip.  We might stop in at Aussie World and see the Ettamogah Pub and maybe even the Australia Zoo.
