Siennas favourite ride

I thought I would see my lunch a second time but Sienna loved this and the fast high swings. The ferris wheel was too wussy for her to go on a second time…

Our first holiday stop

This morning we got up and did the usual swimming lesson.  Then we rushed home, had a quick quick shower and drove out to Kelvin Grove.  There’s a Kindermusik place there. They had an Open Day as they’ve just moved into a new place.  We got there at 10:15 and waited a short while for anyone else to turn up.  Sienna had a go on the piano.  The teacher said most kids can’t do the fingering correctly.. that is, put two or three fingers on different, adjacent keys and move each finger independently. Sienna did and they were impressed.

Once it hit 10:35am they decided to start the class.  We all sat in a circle and the teacher (and her late-teens daughter)  sang a welcome song.  Next we got up and had some games and dances.  Shortly after that we all sat down and played on drums.  Another girl, Holly (about 4yo) arrived with her mum and dad and baby sister.  They joined in the games, but Holly was very shy .. especially compared to Miss Extrovert, Sienna.

They had a couple of stories as well and we had to beat our drums to the music.  The teacher said she was very impressed with Sienna’s drum beats as well since they were mostly in time with the music — as was her dancing. So, it may be a good idea to enrol Sienna in a Music School at some stage.  There’s one much closer to where we live as this took us about 40 minutes to drive to.

Once again we had a dance session (with scarves.. the girls loved it) and Holly really started joining in with Sienna and copying her and playing games with her and the scarves.  Soon, they were chasing each other around and we had to slow them down or risk a collision or something.

When we finished, Sienna wanted to look at the other instruments so she tried out a violin and a guitar.  Perhaps Sienna will be a musician and grow up to teach? That’d be pretty cool.

We left there and they gave Sienna two balloons.. one pink and one purple. She was so excited.  We dropped into the nearby KFC for lunch then headed home.

This afternoon I head to the doctor to have them tell me what they found in my CT scan a couple of weeks ago.

Tomorrow we are going to make our way up to Noosa Heads.  I’ve booked a room up there for a couple of nights and we will check out the Big Pineapple and the Macadamia Nut Factory and many other things. Dad took us up there when I was about 8yo or so and it’d be great to take Sienna for a trip.  We might stop in at Aussie World and see the Ettamogah Pub and maybe even the Australia Zoo.

Don’t ask me! Go ask Google maps!

Click on “GET DIRECTIONS”.

Type “New York” on the left and “London” on the right (without quotes, silly!).

What’s step #24?

WTF?!??!?!?!

Mostly a summary of stuff on my other blogs. Check out the Poker blog and my MySpace ones for more info.

Sux to be a RSS subscriber today :D

Went to Poker tonight. Had a fantastic time.  Didn’t win, but came 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th.. sorta.. heh.  Four of us went ALL IN at the same time and all went out.. leaving two players.  If you go by technical rules I came 5th (well.. tied 5th the host said). They work it out based on whom bet first and how much they bet.  I think some others have the rule that it goes by just whomever bet first then second etc but it doesn’t matter.  I made the final table (out of only 13 players) so it was a good night and I caught up with friends.

I bought War Games yesterday for about $9.82. One of the other guys at work said he just bought it last week on special from a local store for about $6.95..dammit! Oh well.  I haven’t seen it in years, but my Linux server at work.. when you log on the MOTD says something like “Would you like to play a game?” heh.

Saw a funny episode of South Park last night on SBS. It was about World of Warcraft.  I rang all my geeky MMO playing friends and told them to turn it on.  A couple guys from work were laughing their heads off today when we got into work and were chatting about it. Hilarious stuff!  I put a video of it on my MySpace blog if you wish to check some of it out.  Don’t ask me how much of the show is on there as I didn’t watch it on MySpace.

Sienna and I went to bed not too long after 9pm last night. I think those Codral Flu tablets really knock me out sometimes.. particularly when I’ve been rather active during the day.   I’ll be dropping her off home in a couple of hours.

I just had a look at Batty’s page.. the 4D ultrasound photos look really cool, hon! Isn’t technology amazing? Cody looks cute.. must take after her uncle Jason ;) hehe. At least the photos aren’t too big. One day I will have to teach Entropy & LisaJ how to use the WordPress built-in thumbnails feature.  See the photos in the post below when we went to the Wildlife show? You click on them and they get bigger! Wow! Who woulda thunk it? [end Sarcasm statement] *g*

Let’s hope I’m able to make it to Poker this week.  I can’t wait to go again now. It’s been far too long.  I just don’t have time other nights of the week to play online but might put aside an hour now and again so I don’t get rusty.

Spose I better get outta my PJs and have a shower. I’m sweating in these winter clothes.  You go to bed and it’s 28′C inside but at 4am it’s nearly 20′c.  Either you go to bed sweating and with no blankets on then wake up cold and pull them on then wake up sweating when the sun comes up.. or go to bed in summer PJs and wake up frozen solid at 4am.
