Sick bubby

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Sienna woke up from her afternoon nap yesterday complaining of a sore tummy.  I gave her some Panadol and she seemed ok but still complained of a sore tummy.  Not long after she was down the other end of the house in my bedroom and I heard coughing. I went down there and she had been sick all over the floor.  I got her into the bathroom to finish and cleaned up the bedroom.  By this time it was time for her to go home so I bundled her into the car and went to get a bucket in case she felt sick again. Well, I didn’t make it back in time so it was out and into the bath.  She wasn’t too bad after that for a few hours and we both went to bed at 9pm.. I was not 100% yet and the cold and flu tablets made me tired. 9:30pm I awoke and got her head into a bucket but it was a bit late again.  I put her onto one of her foam foldout beds with Bob the Builder on it and she went straight back to sleep.. didn’t have any on her luckily.  I stripped the bed and changed the pillowcases and got it all cleaned up while she slept.  She made it through the rest of the night fine and seems not too bad today.  Since I couldn’t get her home and kindy wouldn’t have her while being sick I told the boss I’ll have to look after her today.

I’ve sold most of the stuff I wanted to on eBay. There’s still some stuff to go, though.  Since the 3 piece lounge suite sold for $1 the new owners will probably pick it up soon so I set about patching up my blowup couch/bed in the spare room. I will bring it out and inflate it and the armrests and set it up in the couch configuration. It has about 5 modes.. see how many I can remember: Single bed (folded queen bed), Queen bed, Couch, loafer (bed propped up) and relaxer.. half bed half couch.

Sold: Freezer, Lounge Suite, Phone, BBQ, Loft bed.

I’ve just finished wrapping up Sienna’s presents for her birthday.  It’s not until the 19th but since she is here now and not then, I will give them to her tomorrow after swimming lessons.

Mum and dad sent up some money for a present for her so I got her a Baby Furby.. awwww how *cute*!

From me? Well.. a month or so ago I found a “Tele Story” computer thingo you plug into the TV and whack in a battery or two and it reads the story from the cartridge plugged into it. It comes with two Dora the Explorer stories. She LOVES Dora and it was on special so I thought it’d be nice.  As it reads, it highlights the words and she can read along.  Today I was looking in Target (Tarjay) and found two story cartridges for it on special so I got them for her. There’s two Spongebob Squarepants stories and another cartridge with two more Dora stories.. so she should be way happy with that, I reckon!

I’ve had the last two days off work due to being sick but still cleaned out half a wheelie bin of crap from the kitchen cupboard and packed away stuff on the bookshelf, along with the DVD player and Digital TV setbox, etc.

I got right into the eBay thing and put a heap of stuff on there now.  Someone tried to “Nigerian Scam” me for my mobile phone, but I got onto eBay Live Help and an extremely friendly and helpful CSR sorted it out for me.

eBay niceness.

I’ve just listed all my items for sale and I must say eBay has come a long way since I last used it two years ago! heh It’s much easier to use and set up your items to sell.

I was browsing items from other sellers (I wanna buy a fold-out sofa bed for the lounge in my new place) and saw someone had this funy Flash gallery listing of all their eBay items for sale. I figure I may as well check it out and created an account at Auctiva.  You set up an account with Auctiva and then use it to log onto your eBay account. It imports all your eBay sales information (not credit card/bank details) and automatically sets up and installs a flash showcase gallery in every item you are selling. It does it all for you! Suddenly all your items have an animated scrolling gallery of all your current items for sale. Handy in case someone is looking for a few things, comes across one of your sales and notices something else they want at a good price. Plus, it adds a nice touch to your site .. a bit of eye candy.

Incidentally, it looks like I can get a nice fold-out sofa bed for under $60! I would have bought it at a store and surely it would have been $300+

Don’t delay as there’s already been a question  regarding the freezer and  somebody watching the lawn mower in their MyEbay.

News

I’ve been off the interweb for the last few days due to iiNet having server issues apparently due to the rainy weather down south.

I’ve just been notified the new rental I really wanted has been approved and I can move in on the 3rd July. YAY! And I already know it’s in an ADSL area! YAY!  No more whinging about the lack of broadband AND I will get a new Second Life account to stop Striker whinging at me to get on the damn thing hehe.

I will have to sell a bunch of things on eBay though since it’s much smaller than my four bedroom home I have now. This is a 2br unit much closer to the city and Sienna. Now I won’t have to worry about ferry times.. although Sienna did enjoy going across the ferry. A bit of a novelty for her, I guess :)   Her mum will have a new home in a few weeks as well.. but in the meantime I’m catsitting. (Not sitting on the cat, but like babysitting only with a cat). The cat is living in the cupboard in my laundry and likes it there and isn’t keen to come out much.
