We tried out the Navman S50 on the way to Mil’s Hallowe’en party last night and it took us in a direction we would not have driven, but it turned out to be quite fast due to following Motorways. It would be interesting to see if the device would take you that way during peak hours (it can distinguish between daytime and nighttime). I dressed up as GI Joe since the theme was “Babes in Toyland”. Cath went as the Moth Queen from the story. Funnily enough, even though Mil and I had no idea what costumes the other was wearing, she was dressed in army fatigues as well haha. Although, there was another guy dressed as a plastic toy soldier.. complete with green face makeup to make him look plastic and big plastic feet like a real plastic soldier.. with the middle split so he could walk.
They had a competition for best costumes. The plastic soldier won one of them. A girl won because she was dressed up as a pig.. (ie ‘Babe - the pig - in Toyland’ heh.). Catherine won an award for her Moth Queen outfit which really surprised her. She ended up having a great time, though, which I was concerned about since she didn’t know anyone else there when we arrived.
They had a pinata (which I suggested they get but my idea was to fill it with liquer chocolates *Grin*). Half a dozen or so people tried belting it with a broomstick (with the broom brush still attached) and had no luck. I grabbed the pole and hit it once without any damage, the same as the others, then took a huge swing and smacked the damn thing off the clothes line. It landed on the ground and I whacked the hell out of it, picked it up and ran off into the crowd. I took it to where my friends were sitting and we proceeded to destroy it completely. The only problem is none of us eat lollies lol! So we picked them up as best as we could in the dark and piled them on a nearby table for the others to sort through.
We had a great time and Mil’s boyfriend Jason seemed to as well since he was really drunk and talking in a fake Irish accent which sounded more Pikey to me. At least he was having fun. He was dressed in a skirt with a blouse and stockings and a blonde wig. We weren’t sure exactly what he was supposed to be, but it didn’t really seem to matter.. especially when he flashed us hehe.
Raphael lived not too far away but he brought $25 for cab fare and it cost $14 to drive him there. I thought it should be must less, but he didn’t have enough to get home so we offered a lift. After Mil took a bunch of photos we jumped into my car, programmed the S50 and drove off to drop off Raph and then head back to my place.
