This should make Lisa happy. I went and donated some blood today to the Red Cross. Everyone should do it :)

On Saturday I took Sienna on a train to the city.  We saw Dora the Explorer and Boots doing a stage show.  There was also a maze to go through and bounce in for the kids and a Meet and Greet for Dora and Boots, so she got to hug Dora.  The show was quite good and we both had a nice time.  When we got home she slept for a good couple of hours.  Sunday we cleaned up the house. I had been lazy and not done much since Striker and Alison left so it was about damn time I did something. Sienna was a good girl and packed away all her things.

Today I went down to Springwood to install a new laptop, then out to Fortitude Valley to look at a keyboard.  Not much else going on at work due to most staff at companies we support being still on leave or just getting back and projects tend to be on hold for the Dec/Jan period.

I did some more work on my remix for The Tenth Stage.  I hope they like it.  I also downloaded most of their other recorded lyrics  and might try remixes of those in the future too.

I’ve been humming and hah-ing about what to do next for my programming project.  I have some desire to write some game for mobile devices.  I was all excited about the Google Android platform but have since realised there will be no phones released for at least 1-2 years which means nobody will be trying or buying anything I write for that amount of time *at least*.  One of my beta-tester friends, Lady Diana (whom tested my Palm game “Quirl”) has moved on from Palm to PocketPC and now to a Blackberry device.  I’m almost tempted to purchase a cheap old Blackberry to test stuff with and use as a PDA.  Astraware (a UK company writing games for mobile devices) has just announced they will be supporting Blackberries in the future but are unable to say just which ones.  You see, I asked them which ones they will be supporting because there are so many damn screen resolutions for Blackberries.  240×160 240×240 240×260 and 240×320 are the ones I know about, at least.  It seems not much point programming for 240×160 but as for the others?  I guess it depends on which devices are more common.  There seems to be enough of the at 240×240 and 240×260, then the high-end ones are 240×320 but there may not be as many of those.

Then there’s the game type… A ’sim’ type game maybe? or Civ type? They interest me, for sure but I don’t know about the complexities of creating one.  I’d like to write a Blackjack game.  So, there’s lots going around my head at the moment. I’ve written down some notes for Civ and Sim type games. What I actually do, at this point I don’t know. (Does that sound Yoda-ish? Certainly not good English).

I was thinking of joining Twitter to post little blog updates via SMS but they only have a UK SMS number for Australia and I don’t know if I get charged big amounts for international SMS’s or if it’s covered in my plan. hmm.
